Mark Orland
Organization:

Millions of meals are distributed through our Partner Agencies and feeding programs thanks to North Texas Food Bank's dedicated volunteer base. Among them is a program dedicated to ensuring seniors across North Texas have access to nutritious food. At these distributions, NTFB relies on volunteers like Mark Orland to help load seniors' cars with their allotted food boxes and send them off with care. Mark began volunteering at the Senior Food Box Distributions with NTFB in March of 2021. Often, Mark is the only volunteer signed up for the shift, but he still shows up and completes the shift with a smile and desire to serve. While senior food distributions are where Mark spends most of his time, his willingness to serve expands to multiple volunteer areas at NTFB. You can often find Mark volunteering as a Production Kernel at the NTFB Distribution Center. Inspired by the seed of the wheat plant, an NTFB Kernel is a volunteer leader who helps our organization grow. These dedicated individuals assist in almost every facet of the organization and regularly give their time to the North Texas Food Bank. As a Production Kernel, Mark helps lead volunteers on assembly-style shifts. He also helps collect food donations with NTFB at the State Fair of Texas, our largest canned food drive of the year. Mark's dedication and willingness to serve in multiple capacities help him stand out as a phenomenal volunteer for the North Texas Food Bank. Since his first shift in March 2021, Mark has served over 565 hours! We are incredibly grateful to Mark for his support of NTFB, and he deserves a crown!
