FRISCO, Texas — No playoffs, all vitriol. It likely doesn't matter than neither the Ƶ nor the Washington Commanders have a playoff berth or seeding on the line, given the history between the two franchises — the former not existing at all if it were up to the latter, and some friendly extortion of Washington's fight song clearing the path for Dallas to enter the NFL as an expansion franchise more than 60 years ago.
And then there is, more recently, the fact Dan Quinn and the Commanders haven't forgotten what happened the last time his former team marched onto the grass at Northwest Stadium, in a 2024 thriller that featured haymaker after haymaker, after haymaker, en route to a Cowboys' victory.

Jayden Daniels has been shut down for the remainder of the season due to injury, but Dak Prescott will "absolutely" take the field on Christmas Day, as will every other healthy starter on the 53-man roster in Dallas. Brian Schottenheimer could not be more clear in how "I want to win" the last two outings, and to stop a three-game slide in the process.
The Commanders have other ideas, and they always play the Cowboys like the rent is due, so expect nothing short of fireworks, as usual, when the two NFC East enemies line up against each other after the world finishes opening the gifts Santa delivered.
