DeMarcus Ware set the franchise record with 117 sacks in nine seasons with Dallas, which included seven straight Pro Bowl invites from 2006-12 as well as four first-team All-Pro honors. He signed as a free agent with Denver in 2014 and earned two more Pro Bowl nods while also helping the Broncos win a Lombardi Trophy in 2015. Ware was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2023.

2) Which Cowboys running back is the only other Pro Football Hall of Famer to have also played with the Broncos?
Tony Dorsett played 11 seasons with the Cowboys from 1977-87 and finished with 12,036 career rushing yards, which is still the second most in franchise history. He retired after one year in Denver and later earned induction into both the Cowboys Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame.

3) What current Cowboys running back started his NFL career with the Broncos?
Drafted by Denver in 2021, Javonte Williams had a solid rookie season, rushing for 903 yards to earn a spot on the All-Rookie Team. He's ranked among league leaders in both rushing yards and touchdowns this season.

4) Which Cowboys quarterback set a franchise record with 506 passing yards on Oct. 6, 2013 vs. Denver?
Tony Romo holds the team mark for most passing yards in a game when he threw for 506 yards against the Broncos. In a seesaw battle, the Cowboys were ahead 14-0, fell behind 35-20 and went back ahead 48-41 midway through the fourth quarter before eventually losing 51-48 on a last second field goal. Romo also tied a club record with five touchdown tosses in the game.

5) This Cowboys running back later served on Tom Landry's staff before eventually becoming the head coach in Denver, where he led the Broncos to three Super Bowl appearances.
Dan Reeves was an all-purpose running back with the Cowboys for eight seasons, winning a Super Bowl in 1971. He then was an assistant coach for Landry and helped the team capture a second Lombardi Trophy in 1977. Named the Broncos head coach in 1981, he would go on to guide Denver to appearances in Super Bowls XXI, XXII and XXIV, but lost each time. Reeves was inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame in 2014.

6) Similarly, this Pro Bowl safety played his entire career with the Cowboys before eventually serving as an assistant coach and later as the defensive coordinator for the Broncos.
Charlie Waters played 12 years with the Cowboys, winning two Super Bowls and earning three Pro Bowl honors. He then went on to join Dan Reeves' coaching staff in Denver and worked with the Broncos for seven seasons, 1988-94. Waters is still third in franchise history with 41 career interceptions.

7) Who scored the game-winning touchdown with just under three minutes to play to secure a 31-27 come-from-behind victory over Denver on Dec. 6, 1992?
The temperature at kickoff for this one was just 19 degrees – tied for the third-coldest regular season game in franchise history – with a wind chill dipping into single digits. Despite that, Dallas led 24-13 in the third quarter, only to have the Broncos come storming back with 14 unanswered points. But Emmitt Smith scored a touchdown with just under three minutes remaining to give the Cowboys a 31-27 victory, marking the last time Dallas has won in Denver.

9) Who was the former Cowboys quarterback who was behind center for Denver in Super Bowl XII?
Craig Morton played with the Cowboys from 1965 until being traded to the Giants midway through the 1974 season. He finished out his career in Denver from 1977-82, and in his first year there led the Broncos to Super Bowl XII. However, he may have wished he wasn't on the field that day. The Cowboys' Doomsday Defense sacked Morton twice, picked him off twice, and gave up just 39 passing yards before he was eventually benched. Dallas went on to win its second Lombardi Trophy with a 27-10 victory.

With just more than seven minutes remaining, Robert Newhouse, who was largely used as a fullback, took the pitch from Roger Staubach, rolled to his left and then lofted a 29-yard pass to wideout Golden Richards in the end zone for the touchdown. Since then, only two other running backs have thrown a scoring pass in the Super Bowl: the Rams' Lawrence McCutcheon in Super Bowl XIV and Cincinnati's Joe Mixon in Super Bowl LVI.

12) While defensive linemen Harvey Martin and Randy White were named co-MVPs of Super Bowl XII, this defensive back could have easily taken home the honor as well after recording one interception and two fumble recoveries in the win over Denver.
Safety Randy Hughes wasn't even a starter on the Dallas defense, but he sure made a big impact on the game's biggest stage. After picking off Craig Morrton in the first quarter, which led to the Cowboys' first touchdown, he then recovered two fumbles in the second quarter and returned them a combined 21 yards. Helped by Hughes' effort, the Cowboys held Denver to only 156 yards of total offense in the 27-10 victory.
